Planned Parenthood Action Fund Endorses Betsy Rader

Novelty, OH – On Thursday, Planned Parenthood Action Fund announced the endorsement of Betsy Rader, the Democratic nominee for Congress in Ohio’s 14th district. Planned Parenthood Action Fund is a stalwart in the ongoing fight for access to reproductive health care access and works to elect candidates who share that mission. Rader is challenging Congressman David Joyce who has a minuscule 4% rating from Planned Parenthood Action Fund.

“The endorsement of Planned Parenthood Action Fund is personal for me. As a young woman I, like countless others, had trouble affording health care. I was able to receive basic women’s health exams at an affordable cost because of Planned Parenthood,” said Betsy Rader. “The services that Planned Parenthood health centers provide are critical, particularly for women and low income families. In Congress, I will fight to protect the important work they do.”

“Over 80,000 Ohioans rely on Planned Parenthood health centers for basic health care each year and Congressman David Joyce has made it a top priority to roll back access to these vital services. We are looking forward to replacing him in November with a champion for women’s health; Betsy Rader,” said Dawn Laguens, Executive Vice President of Planned Parenthood Action Fund. “Betsy has been a strong advocate for affordable health care for women and families, and voters can count on her to stand up for them when she’s in Congress.”

Planned Parenthood Action Fund joins Senator Sherrod Brown, EMILY’s List, Sierra Club, National Farmers Union PAC, Communications Workers of America, and End Citizens United in supporting Betsy Rader’s campaign.
