Cook Political Report Shifts OH-14 in Rader’s Favor
Shift follows Rader outraising incumbent Joyce in Q1 2018

Novelty, OH – On Wednesday morning, the Cook Political Report, one of the leading sources for analysis on House races across the country, moved OH-14 in Betsy Rader’s favor. Cook’s shift comes on the heels of FEC reports showing that Rader outraised incumbent Congressman Joyce in the 1st quarter of 2018. Cook joins Sabato’s Crystal Ball and CNN in ranking Joyce as a vulnerable Republican in November’s election.

“This rating change illustrates what I’ve been hearing all along from voters across the district: that they’re ready for a new voice in Congress. I hear from Democrats, Republicans, and Independents alike that they don’t like what they’re seeing in Washington from Congressman Joyce, and they’re frustrated that he has refused to hold a town hall or listen to folks around the district,” said Betsy Rader, the Democratic candidate in OH-14.

On Sunday, Betsy Rader’s campaign announced that they outraised incumbent Congressman David Joyce in the 1st quarter of 2018, bringing in $276,755 to Joyce’s $244,485. Rader ended the quarter with $403,491 cash on hand (COH), cutting the COH gap by nearly $83,000.
